Sonny Taite serves as the National Chief Information Security Officer for Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, where he works alongside a dedicated team to strengthen the cybersecurity posture of the nation's health sector. Under his leadership, the National Cybersecurity Uplift Programme has been pivotal in advancing resilience, threat detection, and incident response capabilities across 27 health organisations. Key initiatives include the development of a national cyber threat detection system and the establishment of a 24x7 National Security Operations Centre.

Sonny and his team are committed to fostering a culture of security awareness and innovation, ensuring that the healthcare system is better equipped to handle emerging threats and challenges.
