Jared Licht

CISO

Mr. Jared Licht is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF).

Throughout his career Mr. Licht has been involved in a variety of roles within the digital industry, starting as a software engineer in 1996, and progressing through various digital and consulting roles. His extensive expertise ranges from organisational transformation, digital transformation through to information and cyber security.

Mr. Licht has worked in both the digital supplier environment and the public sector, with stints at Blue Star Group, Spark Digital (Gen-i) and IBM. His first public sector role was with the NZDF as an Enterprise Architect where he gathered an understanding of the digital and national security requirements of the military. Post NZDF he has worked as the Head Architect at Department of Labour.
