Hamish McEwen leads Fire and Emergency New Zealand’s data transformation as Chief Data & Analytics Officer, driving innovation that enhances decision-making and operational performance. He has spearheaded the development of a modern data platform that delivers trusted, secure, and actionable insights, laying the foundation for AI-enabled risk modelling and strategic planning. With more than a decade of experience across public and private sectors, Hamish specialises in building data-driven cultures, embedding ethical AI, and translating analytics into measurable outcomes. Passionate about community impact, he also serves on the boards of Te Hau Kori – Institute of Physical Activity and Wellbeing and Scots College Parents Association.
